PILIN Project Outputs : Internal Policy Documents

Outputs of the PILIN and PILIN ANDS projects, and related material produced by the PILIN team subsequently.

PILIN Stage 1 project outputs are linked to the original project website, but if that output has been superseded, the new output is listed here as well.

Outputs are coded to each of the three stages:

  • 1 PILIN 1 = PILIN project proper
  • 2 PILIN 2 = PILIN ANDS Transition project
  • 3 PILIN 3 = Subsequent Outputs
  • *Asterisked content has not yet been finalised or approved

Each output is followed by the Handle for the work (which resolves to the latest published version).


PILIN Internal Policy Documents
These policy documents are specific to the PILIN project's use of identifiers, and are intended as exemplars of what identifier policy documents could look like, based on the policy guidelines listed below.
Policy documents may be superseded at any time. Documents are posted to encourage discussion and enhance knowledge of identifier issues. Previous versions of these documents, below 1.0, where referenced, exist in a password protected development environment.

This policy specifies what "things" are to be persistently identified within the PILIN Project, when an identifier should be associated with a thing, and the resolution behaviour of identifiers assigned by the PILIN project.
