IDEALab Workshop
All day Wednesday, 10 March
Technical workshop focusing on technical standards and innovation supporting interoperability of education systems. IDEALab is aimed at those developing learning technologies for the schools, vocational, or higher education communities.
Technology in Education Open Forum
All day Thursday, 11 March & lunchtime Friday, 12 March
This one and a half day open forum will focus on current and emerging technologies that support learning. It will include discussion of opportunities and challenges for the infrastructure necessary to support digital education. Panel sessions will provide a voice to both technologists supporting learning and teachers using technology to enhance learning. The forum will include discussions of emerging issues that impact learning futures such as Identity Management and Security. Additionally, international speakers have been invited to present their views on interoperability and the benefits of standards. It is aimed at a cross-sectoral mix of policy makers and implementers responsible for education technology and vendors wishing to integrate their services into education infrastructure.
IMS GLC Learning Impact Awards Australian Regional Finals
Showcase and judging(including cocktail party): Early evening of Thursday, 11 March
Awards ceremony: Lunchtime Friday, 12 March
The Technology in Education Open Forum will include a showcase and judging of the Australian Regional Finals of the IMS Global Learning Consortium Learning Impact awards. The Learning Impact Awards and Recognition Program recognizes outstanding applications of technology that address the most significant challenges facing education. The awards are unique for their recognition of the use of technology in context. The top Australian finalists will receive support to attend the international IMS GLC Learning Impact Awards in Long Beach, California from 17-22 May 2010.
